(05/2015) More than 700 applications from 101 countries were submitted in the international competition Citi Mobile Challenge EMEA. Among the finalists there is Finanteq that convinced the jury to their world class innovation – the superwallet.

The aim of Citi Mobile Challenge, organized by the international banking group Citi, was to search for innovative technological solutions in the banking sector.

One of the finalists was Finanteq awarded by the jury with the Top Innovator title. The product that was presented by innovators is superwallet, a new generation of mobile banking that allows users to take care of their everyday financial and shopping matters from a single application.

We want human life to become more convenient and more efficient – says Artur Malek, marketing manager at Finanteq – At the same time we provide banks with a tool that enables to build a whole new level of relations with their customers. The tool that helps in their daily affairs, not only in the financial area, for example: buying bus tickets, ordering taxis, charges for parking in the parking lot, ordering meals delivered to your home or hotel reservations. The user can do it all without the need to download a dozen of different applications – just one bank superwallet.

Global Citi Mobile Challenge initiative took place in EMEA, that is Europe, Middle East and Africa. Among the judges there were not only members of an international Citi team but also representatives of investors and other innovative companies like Uber. The finalists were invited by Citi to further talks on the possibility of implementing their solutions globally.

For many years we have been bringing innovation in mobile banking. We noticed that mobile banking is in fact a form of m-commerce service – says Dobromir Piekarski, CEO of Finanteq – This is why we decided to combine banking with the rest of the m-commerce world and it turned out that these worlds complement each other perfectly. So this is the idea of superwallets.

– We received more than 740 applications across 101 countries for this competition – said Heather Cox, Chief Client Experience, Digital and Marketing Officer for Global Consumer Banking at Citi.- The quality of the ideas was exceptional and we saw a tremendous variety of solutions at our Demo Days in Nairobi, Jerusalem, Warsaw and London. These developers can help us transform banking and fuel progress across other industries. We are so excited to work with them.
